Around the Farm and Garden

Well it’s mid June and still no rain, the heat around here is breaking records and the tomatoes and squash are still going gangbusters, so is my water bill!

Just a little photo update until it slows down a little around here!

The Veggies

The squash is going pretty strong, it’s a yellow straight neck variety and it is good, also have some green zucchini mixed in there too.

After a rocky start with the chickens, the cukes are really growing well, they are moving up the trellises as planned. we still have to keep the chickens out, they don’t stop!

We have been lucky these last few weeks, we have had some much needed rain. The temps have been fairly warm for this time of year, Highs in the upper 70′s low 80′s.    Been pretty busy with work around the farm, lets see whats been going on…..

  • Got the tractor running , wasn’t too hard , just a carb rebuild, some new wires and what not.
  • put in another 8′x8′ raised bed, planted some peas in it.
  • Ruby the milk cow calved, also we had a diary goat kid, tis the season you know!
